Yeongju Love Gift Certificate Limit Raised to 800,000 Won for Chuseok

Paper 300,000 KRW, Mobile 500,000 KRW

Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province will increase the individual purchase limit for the Yeongju Sarang Gift Certificate from the previous 600,000 KRW to 800,000 KRW per person for the month of September in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.

To help ease the financial burden on households and allow residents to enjoy a more abundant Chuseok, the city will raise the individual monthly purchase limit for paper gift certificates from 200,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW, and for mobile gift certificates from 400,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW in September.

The monthly accumulation limit for mobile gift certificates will also be increased from a maximum of 40,000 KRW to 50,000 KRW. The discount rate and accumulation rate will remain at 10% as before.

Paper gift certificates can be purchased at 59 financial institutions serving as sales agencies, including local branches of Nonghyup Bank, regional agricultural and livestock cooperatives, Saemaeul Geumgo, credit unions, post offices, and IM Bank (formerly Daegu Bank). Mobile gift certificates can be purchased through the local gift certificate ‘chak’ app.

Mayor Park Namseo stated, “By raising the purchase limit for the Yeongju Sarang Gift Certificate for Chuseok, we hope to reduce the burden of holiday preparations for citizens and help increase sales for small business owners and local merchants who are struggling due to the economic downturn.” He added, “We hope that this will help ease the burden on consumers caused by rising prices, and that all citizens will enjoy a bountiful Chuseok holiday.”

The purchase limit for Yeongju Love Gift Certificates will be increased to 800,000 won in celebration of Chuseok.
