AI and Digital-Based Future-Oriented Classes: Subaksi

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yunsoo) will hold the AI and Digital-Based Busan Future-Oriented Class Innovation Workshop, "Soo.Bak.Si (Time to Change Classes)," on the 28th and 29th at the Grand Hall of Busan National University of Education and other venues. The event will target over 1,300 participants, including elementary school teachers, educational professionals, students of Busan National University of Education, and university professors.

This workshop has been organized to enhance teachers' expertise and competence in AI and digital-based class innovation through collaboration between universities and schools in response to the era of digital transformation.

The workshop will feature keynote lectures and subject-specific and theme-based breakout sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on digital-based class innovation and student-centered learning with educational experts from various fields.

On the 28th, the workshop will include a keynote lecture titled "Digital Education Innovation: Reading the Flow of the Times" by Professor Song Eunjeong of Dongguk University, as well as the sharing of exemplary lessons in Korean, mathematics, social studies, science, and physical education, and a sharing & talk session led by educational research groups.

On the 29th, the workshop will feature a keynote lecture titled "The Essence of Learning: Finding Answers in Student Agency" by Professor Shin Jongho of Seoul National University, along with the sharing and practice of outstanding cases on various topics such as AI, edutech, inquiry and exploration, convergence, and gamification.

In May, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education held the first university collaboration class improvement workshop, "Class is Tomorrow," at the Busan National University of Education Attached Elementary School.

The Office expects that this workshop will also provide an opportunity to share the results of class research conducted in collaboration with professors from Busan National University of Education and to gain ideas for class innovation in the second semester.

Ha Yunsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This workshop will greatly help spread a culture of autonomous and proactive class innovation in schools and facilitate the transition to AI and digital-based classes. The Office will do its best to strengthen teachers' instructional competence through substantial educational programs."
