Turning Point: Will Approval Ratings Reach the 20% Range?

Democratic Party 40.0%, People Power Party 37.0% Poll Results
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating recorded 30.0%, standing at a crossroads on whether it will fall into the 20% range. The gap in approval ratings between the Democratic Party and the People Power Party has narrowed within the margin of error.
According to a public opinion poll released on the 26th by Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 19th to the 23rd targeting 2,506 voters using 97% wireless and 3% wired automated response methods), President Yoon's approval rating fell by 0.7 percentage points from the previous week's survey to 30.0%. The negative evaluation of government performance rose by 1.0 percentage point from a week earlier to 66.4%.
Realmeter explained, "President Yoon's approval rating has fallen for two consecutive weeks, barely maintaining the 30% level," adding, "Looking at the daily figures, it dropped to the 20% range early in the week but rebounded later in the week to recover to the 30% range."
Examining the daily public opinion trend, President Yoon's approval rating was 28.8% on the 20th. It then showed a rebound trend with 29.4% on the 21st, 32.4% on the 22nd, and 31.9% on the 23rd. Looking at the trend by political orientation, the conservative support rate fell by 4.0 percentage points (from 57.0% to 53.0%). The progressive support rate also dropped by 3.9 percentage points (from 12.8% to 8.9%), but the moderate group increased by 2.0 percentage points (from 25.1% to 27.1%).
This week, President Yoon plans to hold a government briefing to directly explain the achievements and future plans of major government tasks, including the ‘4+1 reforms’ addressing low birth rates, covering four major reforms in pensions, healthcare, education, and labor.
In the party support survey (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 22nd to the 23rd targeting 1,000 people aged 18 and over nationwide using 97% wireless and 3% wired automated response methods), the Democratic Party's support rate fell by 2.2 percentage points to 40.0%, while the People Power Party rose by 6.0 percentage points to 37.0%. As a result, the gap between the two parties narrowed within the margin of error (±3.1 percentage points). The Party for National Innovation fell by 2.0 percentage points to 7.7%, and the Reform Party rose by 0.5 percentage points to 3.6%.
Support for the People Power Party showed notable increases in Seoul (up 18.2 percentage points), Daegu-Gyeongbuk (up 12.5 percentage points), and among moderates (up 7.4 percentage points).
