Hyundai Motor Company's Ioniq 5N has been selected as the Electric Vehicle of the Year by a U.S. automotive magazine.

Hyundai announced on the 25th that the Ioniq 5N was chosen as the '2024 Electric Vehicle of the Year' by the U.S. automotive magazine Car and Driver. This marks the third consecutive year of winning, following the Ioniq 5 in 2022 and the Ioniq 6 in 2023.

Car and Driver conducted a three-week evaluation of 18 electric vehicle models, including the Ioniq 5N, Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW i5 eDrive 40 and i5 M60i, Chevrolet Blazer EV and Equinox EV AWD, Silverado EV, Fiat 500e, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, Polestar 2, Tesla Cybertruck, Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia EV9.

K.C. Colwell, editor of Car and Driver, praised, "Hyundai has secured a three-peat for Electric Vehicle of the Year, making Ioniq a member of a new dynasty. The Ioniq 5N offers an authentic enthusiast experience reminiscent of the 1980s G-model Porsche 911 Club Sport."

A Hyundai official expressed, "We feel very honored and greatly rewarded that the Ioniq 5N, which redefines the joy of driving electric vehicles by introducing high-performance EV-specific features such as N e-Shift and N Green Boost, has been recognized by Car and Driver."

Since its founding in 1955, Car and Driver has been an influential automotive magazine worldwide. It rigorously evaluates driving performance, vehicle value, and more to select the 'Top 10 Cars of the Year' and 'Electric Vehicle of the Year,' among other awards.
