July Collection Rate at 95% Shines with 'Tax Administration Nighttime Civil Service' and More
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 25th that it achieved a 95% collection rate for the regular property tax in July this year, ranking first among the 25 autonomous districts in Seoul.
This figure is 1.6% higher than the Seoul city average of 93.4%, demonstrating both the district's financial soundness and the high tax payment awareness of Seocho-gu residents, according to the district office.
To increase the collection rate, the district actively implemented customized tax payment convenience services. These included the ‘Tax Administration Nighttime Civil Service,’ which operates for an additional two hours after 6 p.m. on the payment deadline day to allow payments, and the ‘Due Date Imminent Text Notification Service,’ which sends virtual account information via text before the payment deadline, among other convenience policies.
Additionally, a ‘Property Tax Auto Calculator’ page was opened on the district office website to allow citizens to calculate their taxes directly, and a ‘Coloring-based Tax Payment Promotion’ was implemented, broadcasting promotional messages about tax payment schedules through administrative phone call waiting tones.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “I thank all Seocho-gu residents for actively cooperating as exemplary taxpayers in paying their taxes,” and added, “We will continue to implement customized tax administration services for residents to enhance satisfaction with tax civil services and secure stable district revenue.”
