"Safe Driving Support" BMW Korea Distributes Electric Vehicle Safety Guide

BMW Korea announced on the 23rd that it has distributed the 'Electric Vehicle Safety Guide' to official dealers nationwide to ensure safe electric vehicle operation.

The BMW Electric Vehicle Safety Guide contains helpful information for operating BMW electric vehicles, including how to set the charging amount and an introduction to the proactive vehicle management service, BMW Proactive Care.

According to the guide, BMW electric vehicles use only the battery capacity with a safety margin left from the total battery capacity, so it is safe even when fully charged to 100%. Additionally, since the target charging amount can be easily set via the My BMW app or within the vehicle, it is easy to comply with the 'recommendation to charge below 90%' system recently proposed by some local governments such as Seoul.

BMW supports electric vehicle safety functions through the proactive vehicle management service 'BMW Proactive Care.' This feature, installed in all BMW electric vehicles currently on sale, monitors the battery charge status, battery temperature, state of charge (SoC), and state of health (SoH) in real time. If any abnormalities are detected, the BMW Proactive Care team immediately contacts the owner to inform them of the necessary measures.

Furthermore, the guide includes information on BMW Korea's after-sales management, such as periodic free inspection AS services for electric vehicles and achieving a 99.5% recall compliance rate for pure electric vehicles.

In November last year, BMW Korea participated in the 'My Battery' campaign, the first among imported car manufacturers, together with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, providing battery information upon customer inquiry. On the 12th, BMW Korea became the first among imported car companies to voluntarily disclose battery manufacturers, actively communicating with customers for safe electric vehicle operation.

BMW Korea is also fully committed to safety measures for electric vehicle charging facilities by distributing 'fire kits (AVD fire extinguishers and fire blankets)' at all BMW charging stations and 134 official showrooms and service centers nationwide.
