Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the "4th Huayang Yeonhwa Beer Festival" on the 27th at Huayang Jeil Alley Market (Merchants' Association President Choi Kyu-chul).
Huayang Jeil Alley Market is a traditional market established in the early 1980s, housing about 80 stores, and is one of the markets with many visitors in their 20s and 30s due to its proximity to Konkuk University.
Accordingly, Gwangjin-gu and the Huayang Jeil Market Merchants' Association, under the theme of Huayang Yeonhwa, meaning "the most beautiful and happiest moment in life," successfully held the beer festival again in May this year following last year.
This festival will be held on the 27th from 5 PM to 11 PM around the main street of Huayang Jeil Alley Market. The Merchants' Association will offer various entertainment and food for market visitors, including operating beer booths, a beer drinking contest, a quiz competition, and a prize raffle.
Perfect safety measures will also be in place to prevent accidents on the day of the event. The district plans to establish a thorough safety management network by deploying safety personnel throughout the venue and installing evacuation guide signs.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "We have organized this festival with even richer content for residents exhausted by the long heatwave," adding, "We hope many people visit the Huayang Yeonhwa Beer Festival to briefly forget the heat and enjoy a happy summer night with family and neighbors."
Gwangjin-gu will continue the traditional market beer festival excitement through the fall. Huayang Jeil Alley Market will hold the Huayang Yeonhwa Beer Festival two more times on September 24 and October 29, and beer festivals with various events such as cultural performances and singing contests will also be held at Yeongdonggyo Alley Market on October 2 and Jayang Traditional Market on October 11.
