The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 23rd that it delivered a total of 400 relief kits, including 200 kitchenware kits and 200 heatwave and infection response kits, supported by Lock&Lock, to small business owners in Dangjin Traditional Market, Chungnam, who are struggling due to the prolonged economic recession and changes in the distribution environment following COVID-19.
The kitchenware kits consisted of disposable items such as frying pan sets, rice container sets, airtight container sets, and zipper bags. The heatwave and infection response kits included 10 daily necessities such as cooling fans, fans, and cool towels, as well as 6 infection prevention items such as masks, hand sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizers.
Oh Seong-hwan, Mayor of Dangjin, said, “I am grateful to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association for their efforts to support small business owners in Dangjin Traditional Market who are facing difficulties due to the economic recession.” Jeong Je-ui, President of the Dangjin Traditional Market Merchants Association, said, “We express our gratitude to Hope Bridge for sending items that are essential for daily life.”
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, stated, “The difficulties faced by small business owners in local areas, including traditional markets, are increasing day by day due to the deepening low birthrate and aging population and rapid changes in the distribution environment,” adding, “We will continue to pay attention to the hardships of disaster-vulnerable groups caused by various factors related to social changes as well as these groups.”
