Full-Scale Launch of Digital Twin Construction Project
E8, a simulation-based digital twin specialist company, is expected to improve its performance through the Busan Eco Delta Smart City Digital Twin Platform project following the Sejong 5-1 Smart City Digital Twin Platform project.
On the 23rd, E8 officially confirmed its participation in the Busan Eco Delta Smart City project by approving an investment in a Special Purpose Company (SPC) for the project execution.
The investment in the SPC for project implementation will be completed within this year. Through this, E8 will actively participate in the smart city construction project.
The Busan Eco Delta Smart City project, commissioned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Water Resources Corporation, is the largest smart city project in South Korea and, along with the Sejong 5-1 Smart City project, constitutes the two major national smart city pilot projects.
E8 secured the digital twin construction project for the Sejong 5-1 Smart City with a total contract value of 10 billion KRW. With the confirmed participation in the Busan Eco Delta Smart City project, it is expected that the digital twin construction project contract can be secured as early as within this year.
Digital twin technology replicates real-world objects in a virtual space for simulation, enabling the prediction and resolution of various issues. E8 applies its digital twin technology throughout the entire process of city development and operation.
By using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and terrain-based 3D modeling simulations that consider spatial characteristics, it monitors situations that may occur in the city, and links public and IoT data with simulation results to proactively provide necessary information when problems arise. Establishing a digital twin ecosystem helps simulate and emulate problems occurring throughout the city's lifecycle in advance, thereby solving urban issues and supporting rapid decision-making.
With E8's participation, the Busan Eco Delta Smart City is expected to establish itself as a model of a future city, integrating innovative technologies aimed at solving urban problems and improving citizens' quality of life.
