Meta-Spotify CEO: "European AI Regulations Are Inconsistent and Complex"

The two CEOs advised that Europe needs to leverage open-source AI technology. They stated, "Europe is well-positioned to fully capitalize on the open-source AI wave," but also pointed out that "fragmented regulatory frameworks implemented inconsistently are hindering innovation."

They further warned that due to regulations, Europeans might be unable to use the latest AI products, saying, "Considering the current regulatory uncertainties, Meta would not be able to launch new models like LLaMA Multimodal, Meta's AI model with image understanding capabilities." They emphasized, "Europe should simplify and harmonize regulations by leveraging the advantages of a single yet diverse market."
