Focusing on Revitalizing the Local Economy and Citizen-Oriented Practical Projects
Cheonan City, Chungnam Province, submitted a supplementary budget (the 2nd round) to the city council, increasing the budget by 160 billion KRW.
As a result, this year's total budget for Cheonan City is expected to reach 2.886 trillion KRW, with the general account increasing by 142.6 billion KRW to 2.4706 trillion KRW and the special account increasing by 17.4 billion KRW to 415.4 billion KRW.
The supplementary budget focuses on projects that revitalize the local economy, enhance industrial competitiveness, and are closely related to citizens' daily lives.
By project, 13.4 billion KRW is allocated for the expansion of Cheonan 5 Foreign Investment Zone, 5.7 billion KRW for the establishment of a Smart Green Industrial Complex Integrated Control Center, 2.3 billion KRW for the regeneration of the 2nd General Industrial Complex, and 2 billion KRW for compensation for Cheonan Sarang Card discount sales, among others.
For strengthening the local social safety net, the budget includes 21.5 billion KRW for basic pension, 5.3 billion KRW for parental allowance support, 2 billion KRW for child care support, 1.7 billion KRW for support for medical benefit recipients in home care facilities, and 1.3 billion KRW for senior employment programs.
Additionally, to prevent disasters and establish living infrastructure, 8 billion KRW is allocated for the expansion of Jiksan Reservoir, 3 billion KRW for Ilbong Central Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District, 9 billion KRW for the construction and expansion of three roads including the access road to the Korea National Football Center, 1.8 billion KRW for the purchase of land for Dujung Public Parking Lot, and 1.5 billion KRW for the Smart City Hub Project.
Furthermore, the budget also includes 6 billion KRW for incineration of household waste, 4.3 billion KRW for household waste transportation outsourcing, and 1.1 billion KRW for support of free meal food expenses.
This supplementary budget proposal will be submitted to the 272nd temporary session of the Cheonan City Council and is expected to be finalized through a resolution on the 6th of next month.
