Decision and Announcement of the ‘Sinjeong Intersection District Unit Plan’
A multi-family residential complex with up to 27 floors and 704 households will be built in the area of 1050-1, Sinjeong-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. Yangcheon-gu announced on the 22nd that the ‘Sinjeong Intersection District Unit Plan Decision’ for the long-term lease housing near the station was officially notified following the ‘1st Seoul City Urban and Architectural Joint Committee Authorized Subcommittee Review’ held in March.
The site is a station area near Sinjeong Intersection Station on Line 2, with excellent transportation accessibility and other conditions, but it was an area urgently needing residential environment improvement due to the concentration of aging and poor buildings over 20 years old and a deteriorated street environment.
Through this district unit plan decision, the site of 23,176.5㎡ will be reborn as a total of 704 households (505 sale housing units and 199 long-term lease housing units) in eight apartment buildings with 20 to 27 floors above ground.
In particular, to build long-term lease housing near the station, the zoning will be changed from the existing Type 2 General Residential Area (up to 7 floors) to a quasi-residential area. The long-term lease housing will provide units under 85㎡, including 159 units of 51?59㎡ and 40 units of 84㎡.
To construct the long-term lease housing near the station, existing small green spaces will be abolished, and a children’s park and public facilities will be newly established. The public facilities will include the Sinjeong 1-dong Community Center, Residential Safety Comprehensive Center, and a library.
Lee Ki-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “With the confirmation of the long-term lease housing construction project near Sinjeong Intersection Station, we expect the supply of quality urban housing and the enhancement of station area functions.” He added, “We will expedite the follow-up procedures to ensure that the deteriorated residential environment can be improved quickly.”
