The "2024 Daegu-Gyeongbuk Digital Learning Center Education" is a program designed to help city and provincial residents develop the skills needed in a digital environment and to make digital education easily accessible for digitally vulnerable groups, such as the elderly.

The Digital Learning Center, which opened last July, offers a variety of educational programs, including permanent learning centers, experience zones, EduBus, and dispatched education.

There are two permanent learning centers in Daegu and three in Gyeongbuk, where participants can receive practical digital education on topics such as preventing financial phishing, personal and public authentication, and online content creation.

In the experience zone, visitors can try out digital devices necessary for health, leisure, and daily life, such as kiosks, multi-tables, and digital blood pressure monitors.

The EduBus is a vehicle operated to improve access to digital education, with a total of three buses running in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas.

Considering the large area and aging population of Gyeongbuk, the program plans to focus on providing basic digital education to elderly individuals living alone and similar groups.

Dispatched education is conducted by sending instructors to institutions or organizations with educational needs and accounts for the largest portion of this year's education program.

Any group of three or more people can apply for the education program.

Yoon Hyupsang, head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, said, "Through the Digital Learning Center Education, we will do our best to ensure that everyone in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region can enjoy the benefits of digital technology and to realize digital equality in the local community."

The "2024 Daegu-Gyeongbuk Digital Learning Center" is supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National Information Society Agency, Daegu City, and Gyeongbuk Province, and is operated through a joint consortium of Daegu Catholic University, Eumgil HR, and KTcs.
