Water Supply Disrupted in Cheonan Due to Water Pipe Damage Caused by Typhoon

Tap Water Outage in Sinbangtongjeong District Around 7 a.m. on the 21st

Due to the impact of Typhoon Jongdari, a water supply outage occurred in some areas of Cheonan, Chungnam.

According to Cheonan city officials on the 21st, multiple reports were received around 7 a.m. that tap water was not coming out in the Sinbang-dong, Sinbang Tongjeong District area of Dongnam-gu.

The incident happened when a water supply pipe connection was damaged during road expansion work between Saesaem Middle School and Shindobrainu Apartment in Sinbang-dong, resulting in the suspension of water supply. The city suspects this was caused by the aftereffects of the typhoon.

Cheonan city is conducting emergency restoration work, dispatching water trucks to nearby elementary schools and apartment complexes, and providing bottled water.

A city official stated, "The restoration work is expected to be completed between 1 and 2 p.m.," and added, "We will do our best to normalize the water supply as soon as possible."
