Goseong County Conducts Ulchi Exercise Drill ... "Prevent Terror at Samcheonpo Power Plant" Goseong County is conducting the Eulji Exercise field training at Samcheonpo Thermal Power Headquarters.

On the 20th, over 180 participants from eight related organizations and groups, including County Mayor Lee Sanggeun, the Chairman of the Goseong County Council, the Commander of the 2nd Battalion of Unit 8358, the Chief of Goseong Police Station, the Chief of Goseong Fire Station, and the Head of the Samcheonpo Power Plant Headquarters of Korea South-East Power, attended the drill. More than 240 pieces of equipment, including fire trucks and ambulances, were mobilized.

This exercise was designed to practice response procedures for various situations, such as when enemy special forces infiltrate key facilities at the Samcheonpo Power Plant Headquarters, resulting in casualties during an engagement and fires caused by grenade attacks. The drill focused on life-saving, fire suppression, and establishing a cooperative system among related agencies?including civilian, government, military, police, and fire departments?to minimize loss of life and property for county residents.

In his drill evaluation, Mayor Lee emphasized, “I commend the efforts of all personnel and officials from related organizations who participated in this exercise. I believe this was a valuable opportunity to reaffirm our security awareness and emergency preparedness. In the event of a terrorist attack, the organic cooperation system among civilian, government, military, police, and related agencies must always operate as swiftly as it did today.”
