Boryeong to Host 'Moochangpo Mysterious Sea Road Festival' from October 18 to 20

Bare-Handed Flatfish and Shrimp Catching, Seafood Barbecue Experience Events Held

The Mysterious Sea Road Festival will be held at Muchangpo Beach in Boryeong, Chungnam.

The Boryeong city government announced on the 21st that the 'Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road Festival' will take place from October 18 to 20, for three days, at Muchangpo Beach, themed around the mysterious phenomenon of the opening sea road and related fisheries and seafood.

This festival is being held to attract tourists and promote seafood consumption, thereby revitalizing the local economy.

This year’s festival will feature a variety of hands-on activities, including barehanded flounder and shrimp catching, a seafood barbecue experience, recreational programs with tourist participation, face painting & bubble activities, making netted water bottles, making shell flowerpots, and fish keyring (resin art) workshops.

Mayor Kim Dongil said, “The Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road Festival is a meaningful event that combines a wondrous natural phenomenon with local culture and fishery resources,” adding, “We hope that visitors will fully enjoy the charm of Muchangpo and that the festival will contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
