First Half Beer Home Market Share: OB Beer Leads with 55.3%
'Cass' Tops as No.1 Brand with 44%
OB Beer’s flagship brand 'Cass' recorded the number one market share in the domestic home beer market for the first half of 2024.
According to market research firm Nielsen Korea on the 21st, OB Beer’s 'Cass Fresh' ranked first among beer brands with a 44% share in home beer market sales volume from January to June this year. Cass Fresh maintained its number one position for the 13th consecutive year by increasing its home market brand share by 1.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year in the first half of this year.
Cass Fresh’s sister brand 'Cass Light' also recorded a 3.4% share in the domestic home market in the first half of 2024, ranking sixth among all beer brands. Cass Light grew by 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year, rising two spots from eighth place in 2023 to sixth overall, securing the number one position among ‘light beers.’ In the manufacturer rankings, OB Beer, led by Cass, ranked first with a 55.2% market share, up 2.2 percentage points from the same period last year.
An OB Beer official said, “Cass, which promoted K-food by operating ‘Cass Pocha’ at the Paris Olympics, grew compared to last year and further solidified its overwhelming number one position in the first half of this year,” adding, “In the second half of the year, we will continue to lead the beer market through various marketing activities and product innovations that meet consumers’ expectations.”
