LG Uplus announced on the 21st that it has launched a 'Prepaid Internet' product for users who need internet access for a short period, eliminating the hassle of monthly bill payments and product cancellations.


LGU+ Launches 'Prepaid Internet' Service for Short-Term Users... Up to 43% Discount

'Prepaid Internet' is a product that allows users to pay for 6 or 12 months in advance and use U+ Internet at up to 43% cheaper rates compared to existing fees. The service is automatically terminated upon expiration of the period.


The product is offered in three types based on Wi-Fi availability and internet speed: ▲ '100M' for convenient web surfing and online document work ▲ '500M' for uninterrupted viewing of high-definition video content ▲ '1G' for enjoying high-performance gaming.


The prepaid internet product is cheaper than the regular postpaid plans. For example, the regular plan 'Wi-Fi Basic 500M' costs 56,100 KRW per month (709,500 KRW annually, no contract, including installation fees) for 12 months, whereas the 'Wi-Fi Basic Prepaid Internet 500M' can be used for 12 months at 405,900 KRW annually with no additional costs. This saves up to 303,600 KRW per year (about 43%).


LG Uplus expects the prepaid internet product to be well received by university students who need internet for a short period due to studies or business trips, as well as foreign customers staying in Korea temporarily, since it eliminates the hassle of monthly payments and cancellations upon expiration.

We will continue to provide differentiated value through a diverse lineup of plans that meet various customer demands."
