Geumcheon-gu to Host Event Across G-Valley from 2 PM to 5 PM on September 3... Online Registration Open Until August 23
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that it will hold the "19th G-Valley Smart Marathon" on September 3rd to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the industrial complex.
This marathon will take place during "G-Valley Week" (September 2-6), an industrial culture festival unique to G-Valley. Hosted by the Korea Industrial Complex Business Association Seoul (KIBA Seoul) and supported by Geumcheon-gu, Guro-gu, and the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, the event aims to create a festival where companies and workers can come together.
The event will be held on September 3rd from 2 PM to 5 PM, starting at the Daeryung Post Tower 8th building plaza in Guro-gu and proceeding along a 3.5 km, 1-hour course crossing the entire G-Valley area to the Seoul Digital Stadium in Geumcheon-gu.
Especially this year, to enhance the significance and symbolism of the marathon in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the industrial complex, the course has been expanded from the existing G-Valley 1st Complex (Guro-gu) to include G-Valley 2nd and 3rd Complexes (Geumcheon-gu).
Participants can attach a QR code, which can promote their company, to their bib numbers while running, and awards will be given to those who prepare unique QR codes.
Anyone, including G-Valley entrepreneurs, workers, and local residents, can participate for free. Applications can be made through the Smart Marathon website or via the QR code indicated on promotional materials by the 23rd.
On the same day, a cultural event for workers will be held at the Dipolis Knowledge Industry Center plaza. Marathon participants can enjoy street performances held at the workers' cultural event as well as the Hope Day event at the same location.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We have prepared a unique G-Valley sports and cultural performance event where entrepreneurs, workers, and residents can come together and enjoy," adding, "I hope this helps G-Valley develop a dynamic and vibrant image not only as an industrial area but also as a cultural space."
Meanwhile, during "G-Valley Week," in addition to the Smart Marathon and workers' cultural events, various industrial culture events such as export consultation meetings, the Geumcheon Suni’s House special exhibition, the Geumcheon Fashion Film Festival, and the Geumcheon Science Festival will be held.
