A large sinkhole occurred near a construction site close to Saebyeok Market in Gamjeon-dong, Sasang-gu, Busan, around 7 p.m. on the 20th.
The construction site is known to be the Sasang-Hadan line construction project commissioned by Busan Transportation Corporation.
The sinkhole was confirmed to be approximately 5 meters in diameter and about 3 meters deep. There were no casualties.
Sasang District Office and Busan Transportation Corporation are directing vehicles to detour and are conducting road repair work.
A Sasang District Office official stated, "Since rain is forecasted tonight, we are currently carrying out emergency restoration work first," adding, "The exact cause will be investigated later."
