From now on, at the Busan Transportation Corporation BTC Academy, you can receive training not only for railway vehicle driving licenses and railway vehicle maintenance, but also for railway traffic control certification.
Busan Transportation Corporation (President Lee Byungjin) announced that its training institution, BTC Academy, has been designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as a railway traffic control training institution. The corporation has established the 'Railway Traffic Control Training Center' as an educational hub for nurturing railway controllers in the southeastern region, and it will now begin full-scale operation.
Busan Transportation Corporation is holding the opening ceremony of the Railroad Traffic Control Training Center.
Railway traffic control refers to the work of centrally managing, controlling, and monitoring the operation of railway vehicles.
To be designated as a railway traffic control training institution, the corporation has established practical training facilities for control, a simulated control system (FTS), and a computer-assisted instruction system (CAI), as well as securing dedicated instructors. Through this, a customized training system for nurturing professional personnel has been built.
The corporation’s Railway Traffic Control Training Center will offer training in two areas: urban railway control and general railway control, targeting experienced professionals, the general public, new trainees, and those renewing their certification. BTC Academy will start recruiting students for the railway control certification program today, with full-scale classes beginning in October. Detailed information can be found on the Busan Transportation Corporation BTC Academy website.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, “With the designation as a railway traffic control training institution, we expect to alleviate the severe shortage of railway traffic controllers and provide employment opportunities for young people in the southeastern region who wish to work in railway operation organizations. We will spare no effort in promoting and supporting this initiative to offer valuable educational opportunities to young local talents interested in railway operation organizations.”
BTC Academy was designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2012 as a training institution for railway vehicle driving certification, and boasts the highest practical test pass rate for the Class 2 electric vehicle driving license. As of 2023, a total of 951 trainees have completed the program, with a license acquisition rate of 97.4%. The national average pass rate in 2023 was 71.2%.
Busan Transportation Corporation opens the "Railroad Traffic Control Training Center" at BTC Academy and will start training from October.
