The "Ululalla Night Sea Pocha" in Ulleung, Gyeongbuk, which added romance to the night sea of Ulleungdo, gained great popularity as it was jointly operated with the local volunteer group Ulleung Youth Group.
According to Ulleung County and others on the 20th, a nighttime seaside pocha was held for four days from the 15th to the 18th around Jeodong Port under the theme "A seafood party to enjoy the Ulleungdo sea at sunset with family, lovers, and friends." This project is part of the K-Tourism Island Ululalla Ulleungdo initiative.
The variety of food directly sourced and presented by youth groups such as the Ulleung Youth Group and the Water Rescue Team was enough to captivate visitors along with the night view of Ulleungdo. In addition, wild turban shell, mussels, and steamed oysters were sold at reasonable prices, receiving positive feedback from visitors.
Kim Jinhak, head of the Ulleung Youth Group, said, "It is an honor that local young people were able to take the lead and create a venue where both the public and private sectors could present nighttime attractions and food," and added, "We will continue to strive to serve the community as the light and salt of the region together with our members."
Lee Juhee, head of the tourism planning team at Ulleung County, said, "This project, implemented for the first time this year, has become a space for communication and relaxation that anyone, including local residents and tourists, can enjoy, rather than just a simple street food stall," and continued, "We hope that the beautiful night scenery and pocha culture of Ulleungdo will establish itself as a wonderful night culture and a representative night street of Ulleung."
