Personal Purchase Limit Set at 200,000 KRW, Discount Rate 7%
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will issue 15 billion KRW worth of Changwon Sarang Gift Certificates (Nubijeon) from September 4 to 6, ahead of Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday, in an effort to boost holiday consumer sentiment.
This issuance includes 5 billion KRW in paper gift certificates and 10 billion KRW in mobile gift certificates, totaling 15 billion KRW. The individual purchase limit is 200,000 KRW each for both paper and mobile certificates, with a discount rate of 7%.
For mobile gift certificates, those born in or before 1959 can make priority purchases from 9 a.m. on September 4 until midnight on September 5. Those born after 1960 can purchase starting from 9 a.m. on September 6.
However, those born in or before 1959 who are unable to purchase on September 4-5 can still purchase on September 6.
Paper gift certificates can be purchased regardless of birth year, starting from 9 a.m. on September 6 at designated sales agencies (Gyeongnam Bank, Nonghyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, and Shinhyup).
Additionally, when making payments with Nubijeon at mobile-affiliated stores in Good Price Stores and near Lotte Department Store Masan Branch, a 5% cashback event will be held the following month, while funds last.
Jo Youngwan, Director of Economic and Employment Affairs, said, "We hope that the issuance of Nubijeon will help alleviate the burden of high prices for citizens and aid small business owners in recovering from sluggish consumer sentiment."
