Twelve Members Receive Awards for Advancing Pohang Agriculture and Organizations

Resolution to Practice 'Farmer Safety 365' for Disaster Prevention and Safe Farming

Pohang City, together with the Pohang City Federation of the Korea Rural Leaders Association and the Pohang City Federation of the Korea Life Improvement Association, held the '2024 Rural Leaders and Life Improvement Association Unity Workshop' at Daejam Hall in the Culture Building of City Hall on the 20th.

With about 700 members and guests in attendance, the workshop recognized 12 members who have set an example in advancing Pohang's agriculture and revitalizing the organizations with commendation awards.

All participants also pledged to practice 'Safe Farming 365' to prevent agricultural work accidents and ensure safe farming practices, and Professor Choi Kyunghee delivered a humanities lecture on the theme of 'Stress Management for a Happy Life.'

In the afternoon, a 'Unity Festival' was held to promote harmony among members from 15 towns and villages, led by a professional host, providing an opportunity for members to unite and communicate.

Members showcased their presentation skills and talents, expressing their affection and pride for Pohang's local agricultural and specialty products.

Mayor Lee Kangduk stated, "I hope that local farmers will overcome challenges such as rural aging and the climate crisis, and rise as leaders in the convergence and complex industrialization of agriculture," adding, "I ask the members of the Rural Leaders Association and the Life Improvement Association to join together for the hope and future of Pohang agriculture."

Jang Haejoo, president of the Pohang City Federation of the Korea Rural Leaders Association, urged members to take the lead in revitalizing rural areas, while Lee Misook, president of the Pohang City Federation of the Korea Life Improvement Association, encouraged everyone to pool their wisdom and overcome difficulties together for the development of Pohang agriculture.
