Nintendo Museum to Open in Kyoto in October
Two Floors Featuring Nintendo History Experience

Good news has been delivered to Nintendo fans visiting Kyoto, Japan.
Nintendo will open the Nintendo Museum in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, this coming October. In Osaka, Universal Studios Japan operates 'Super Nintendo World.' 'Super Nintendo World' is a large-scale themed area that recreates Nintendo characters and game worlds. The Kyoto Nintendo Museum differs slightly in scale and composition. The museum is a facility that exhibits products Nintendo released in the past, created by remodeling a two-story factory in Uji City.

In the center of the first-floor floor, a giant monitor is installed where visitors can enjoy card games with their smartphones. There are 100 cards of Hyakunin Isshu (百人一首), well-known in Japan and also released as a game by Nintendo, laid out on the floor. Each card has a short phrase written on it, and the game is to match these phrases. The second floor exhibits products Nintendo released in the past, displaying hardware such as the Famicom (Family Computer) and all software released by Nintendo.

The museum operates daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except Tuesdays. Admission fees are 3,300 yen (about 30,000 KRW) for adults, 2,200 yen for middle and high school students, and 1,100 yen for elementary school students, while preschool children enter free. Visitors can experience exhibits using coins that can only be used here. Each person is given 10 coins and must use them within this limit. Currently, additional coins are not sold. Additionally, a cafeteria selling food and a souvenir shop are also operated.
