Incheon City will implement the 'Incheon Metropolitan I-Pass' project, which allows unlimited use of metropolitan buses traveling to and from Seoul for 30 days, starting from the 26th.
The Metropolitan I-Pass is a concept of a metropolitan bus season ticket, where if you charge 80,000 won onto a dedicated card, you can ride metropolitan buses without any limit on the number of rides for 30 days.
The available buses include 26 routes and about 210 buses of direct seat and metropolitan express (M-bus) services between Incheon and Seoul, as well as BRT (route 7700). Although some buses operate within Incheon, M6410, 3001, and 3002 buses not operated by Incheon City, and airport buses 6770, 6777, and 6777-1 are not eligible for the Metropolitan I-Pass.
The city plans to include buses M6410, 3001, and 3002 in the future through consultations with related organizations such as Gyeonggi Province. However, even for excluded buses, users can receive a partial refund benefit by using the K-Pass (Incheon I-Pass).
The Metropolitan I-Pass dedicated card can be purchased for 3,000 won at GS25 convenience stores in the Incheon area or online at the 'Cashbee Shop.' The regular fare (80,000 won for 30 days) can be charged at GS25 convenience stores nationwide or through the 'Incheon Metropolitan I-Pass' app. After purchasing the dedicated card, you must register the card on the Cashbee website or the Incheon Metropolitan I-Pass app to receive services such as loss/theft reporting and refund applications (before the 30-day expiration).
If the card is not tagged twice when getting off the bus, the Metropolitan I-Pass usage will be suspended for 24 hours based on the previous boarding, so it is essential to tag the card when alighting.
Also, since transfers to other transportation modes besides metropolitan buses are not allowed, transfer passengers must use the existing public transportation discount support card, the 'Incheon I-Pass.' Detailed information on available routes and usage methods can be found on the Incheon City website under the 'Incheon Metropolitan I-Pass' menu.
Previously, the Incheon I-Pass, implemented by Incheon City since May this year, has been used by approximately 186,000 subscribers.
Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, said, "We expect that the Metropolitan I-Pass policy, introduced following the Incheon I-Pass, will help alleviate the financial burden on citizens facing economic difficulties due to high inflation."
