Cheonan City in Chungnam Province has formed an emergency response team to strengthen its quarantine system in response to the resurgence of COVID-19.

The emergency response team is composed of a situation management team, patient management support team, epidemiological investigation team, and vaccination team. Their responsibilities include building data, prevention and public awareness, securing therapeutics, conducting epidemiological investigations, and administering COVID-19 vaccinations.

Additionally, the city has actively promoted public awareness by producing materials on COVID-19 prevention guidelines and has delivered enhanced quarantine measures to the Office of Education to ensure that prevention rules are observed in schools as the new semester begins.

To secure COVID-19 therapeutics, the city has requested additional supplies from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and Chungcheongnam-do, and has asked 116 designated medical institutions and the Cheonan Medical Association to strictly adhere to the prescription standards and target groups for therapeutics.

Furthermore, the city has created group chat rooms with 36 pharmacies, which are responsible for dispensing medication, to share real-time updates on drug inventory and related information.

A city official stated, "We recommend that citizens comply with prevention guidelines until COVID-19 vaccinations are administered in October," and added, "The city will focus its efforts on securing therapeutics to protect high-risk groups such as those aged 65 and older and people with underlying health conditions, and will ensure that citizens can receive vaccinations safely and without any issues."
