She went on to say, "Looking at everyone gathered here tonight, I see the beauty of our great country," emphasizing, "This November, we will declare that we are moving forward as one voice and one nation." She also stressed, "We have much more in common than all the things that try to divide us," and urged, "Let us fight for the ideals we cherish. We will win."

Although Vice President Harris had no scheduled speech that day, she made a surprise appearance. As Beyonc?'s song "Freedom" played, Harris appeared on stage dressed in a bright brown suit, prompting an overwhelming roar of cheers from supporters. The supporters waved red signs emblazoned with the phrase "We fight. We win." in unison, cheering enthusiastically.

The Democratic Party will hold a four-day convention starting that day, officially nominating Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, as the presidential and vice-presidential candidates, respectively, marking the launch of their election campaign. Speeches by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Biden are also scheduled for the day.
