"I Want to Meet the Victim and Apologize"... Rapper San E Apologizes After Being Booked for 'Assaulting a Pedestrian'

Rapper San E (39, real name Jung San), who was booked on charges of assaulting a pedestrian in a park, has expressed his apology.


On the 19th, San E released a statement through his legal representative, saying, "First, I bow my head and sincerely apologize to the victim of my recent assault incident."


He continued, "Although I am compelled to convey my apology to the victim through this statement first, I want to meet the victim in person and ask for forgiveness," adding, "I am sorry to many people who were disappointed because of me. Please reprimand me for my wrongdoing."


Yang Tae-jung, a lawyer from the law firm Gwangya, who is San E’s legal representative, promised, "We will actively cooperate with the investigation and do our best to apologize to the victim as soon as possible and to help restore the damage."


Earlier on the 19th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that rapper San E was booked on the 17th on charges of special assault. He is accused of assaulting a pedestrian, Mr. A, at the entrance of a park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, around 8 p.m. on the 28th of last month, by saying, "Ride your bicycle properly," and using a cellphone and other objects to hit him.


Mr. A is reported to have claimed that "the area near his eye was torn and some of his teeth were damaged."

Hello, this is San E.

First, I sincerely apologize to the victim of my recent assault incident.

Although I am compelled to convey my apology to the victim through this statement first, I want to meet the victim in person and ask for forgiveness.

I am sorry to many people who were disappointed because of me.

Please reprimand me for my wrongdoing.
