Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized President Yoon Seok-yeol's remark about ‘anti-state forces operating in secret’ as “extreme right-wing ideological gaslighting, no matter how you listen to it.”
On the 19th, Park said on Facebook, “Mentioning certain forces in relation to the Itaewon disaster, the prosecution that crushed Kim Geon-hee’s luxury bag and the ‘Geon-hee Rights Committee,’ the Board of Audit and Inspection rejecting the Yongsan relocation of the presidential office, the Korea Communications Commission suppressing press freedom, and so on?aren’t these anti-state forces denying the constitutional order?”
He added, “Instead of vaguely calling them anti-state forces under the guise of the Eulji Cabinet meeting, specifically name the opposition party, critical media, and the people,” and said, “If there are anti-state forces, the prosecution, police, and military should arrest them.”
He continued, “No matter how much you try to divide and gaslight, the people know,” and emphasized, “Do not declare war on the opposition party and the people; declare war on the heatwave, high interest rates, high exchange rates, and high prices, and conduct training at the level of the previous government.”
Earlier that day, President Yoon said at the Cabinet meeting held at the Yongsan presidential office, “Within our society, anti-state forces threatening the liberal democratic system are operating in secret everywhere,” and added, “We must actively seek ways to block confusion and division and to raise the entire nation’s will to resist.”
