On the 19th (local time), the Israeli military conducted airstrikes targeting the weapons depots of the Iran-aligned militant group Hezbollah in eastern Lebanon.
According to foreign media, on the evening of the same day, the Israeli military bombed multiple Hezbollah weapons depots located in the Bekaa Valley area of eastern Lebanon, about 70 km north of the Israeli border. The Israeli military emphasized, "Secondary explosions following the airstrikes confirmed that a large quantity of weapons was stored at the facility."
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that eight people were injured in the Israeli airstrikes, with no fatalities reported.
On the 17th, the Israeli military also conducted airstrikes on Hezbollah weapons depots in the southern Lebanese area of Taybeh. It is understood that at least 10 people, including two children, were killed as a result.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza Strip war in October last year, Israel has continued military operations along the border area to contain Hezbollah. Israel has mainly targeted Hezbollah operatives and rocket launch sites, but it now appears to be expanding its focus to weapons depots.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced, "Air Force aircraft eliminated Hussein Ali Hussein, who commanded Hezbollah rocket and missile units in the Deir Kanoun area near the southern Lebanon border."
