Hwaseong-si Resource Circulation Textbook Selected as Gyeonggi-do Type Carbon Neutral School Textbook

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province has developed a resource circulation educational textbook that will be used as teaching material in elementary schools within the province.

Hwaseong City announced on the 19th that its resource circulation educational textbook, "Sustainable Global Environment and Urban Problem Solving," has been selected as the educational material for the "2024 Gyeonggi-do Carbon Neutral School" program. Accordingly, the textbook will be used for environmental education for approximately 2,500 elementary students across 18 schools in the province that have been selected as Gyeonggi-do Carbon Neutral Schools, the city explained.

The main contents of the textbook include ▲ understanding resource conservation and recycling ▲ recognizing environmental and social issues caused by waste ▲ the roles of public institutions and residents in solving environmental problems.

Shim Yeon-bo, head of the Resource Circulation Division of Hwaseong City, said, "As interest in environmental protection grows due to abnormal weather and climate change, and citizen action becomes more important, we hope this textbook selection will serve as an opportunity to highlight the importance of resource circulation."

Meanwhile, the textbook produced by the city won the grand prize in the excellent environmental education content textbook category last year, hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Institute.
