Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Miran Visits Jinju to Experience Tourism Programs

Minister and Vice Minister: "A Joyful and Valuable Time Discovering Jinju's Hidden Charms"

Firsthand Experience of 'Night Jasullang Tour' and 'Olbbam Night Market' Nighttime Tourism

Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 19th that, in an effort to revitalize local tourism, it toured Jinju's tourist attractions and experienced various tourism programs firsthand together with Jang Miran, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who visited Jinju on the 17th.


Mayor Cho Kyu-il, while participating in a bicycle ride at the site of Jinju's popular night tourism content "Night Jasullang Tour," introduced Jinju Fortress National Heritage Media Art, Jinju Night Walk, Global Influencer Fam Tour, and Namgang Starry Night Picnic. He stated, "The summer nights in Jinju are currently vibrant thanks to the enthusiastic response from citizens and tourists."


Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Miran Visits Jinju to Experience Tourism Programs Mayor Cho Kyuil is giving an on-site explanation of Jinju night tourism content to Rose Jang, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

He further explained that, as part of the Southern Region Integrated Tourism Development Project, the ongoing projects to create a Traditional Culture Experience Center and a Cultural Workshop Alley in the old downtown area will help Jinju, a UNESCO Creative City, become a stay-type tourism city. He requested continued interest to ensure the development of various infrastructure for Jinju citizens, tourists, local artists, and athletes.


Vice Minister Jang commented, "It was a delightful and valuable experience to personally visit Jinju's major tourist sites and discover its hidden charms," and added, "We will continue to communicate with local governments and work harder to promote regional tourism."


In response, Mayor Cho expressed his aspirations by saying, "To create a sustainable tourism city, we will develop tourism content utilizing Jinju's unique resources and make Jinju a city people want to visit again."


On this day, Vice Minister Jang visited the Jinju Namgang Lantern Exhibition Hall, viewed the splendid lantern displays and media art, and participated in a lantern-making experience. Afterwards, she boarded the Namgang cruise ship Kim Simin-ho, experienced Jinju's history and culture through a guide's commentary, admired the brilliant scenery of Jinju Fortress and Chokseoknu harmonized with the Namgang River, and also visited the Olbbam Night Market for local food.


Later, she had a meaningful time meeting with local young entrepreneurs and tourism industry workers, listening to their on-site stories and offering encouragement.
