Busan Transportation Corporation Conducts Public Preference Survey on Sasang-Hadan Line Train Design

June 19-23, Interior and Exterior Design On and Offline

Busan Transportation Corporation has unveiled the design proposals for the Sasang-Hadan Line light rail vehicles, which will connect Hadan Station on Line 1 and Sasang Station on Line 2, and will conduct a public preference survey for five days from the 19th to the 23rd.

The Sasang-Hadan Line is a 6.9 km route (with seven stations) stretching from Sasang Station on Line 2 to Hadan Station. Rubber-tired, driverless vehicles are planned to operate on the line, which is currently under construction with the goal of opening by the end of 2026.

According to the corporation, the proposed designs reflect continuity with existing vehicle designs and line colors, maximize modern aesthetics and passenger convenience, and focus on concepts such as openness for improved visibility.

The public preference survey will be conducted both online and offline, and any citizen interested in the Busan urban railway can participate. The online survey will be available on the Busan Transportation Corporation website from the 19th to the 23rd.

The offline survey will take place at Sasang Station and Hadan Station for two to three days during the survey period. Participants can vote for their preferred design from three options each for the interior and exterior of the train. Detailed information can be found on the Busan Transportation Corporation website.

The corporation plans to proceed with vehicle design based on the final selection, taking into account the harmony between interior and exterior designs, using the results of this preference survey.

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, "We plan to select the final design for the Sasang-Hadan Line vehicles based on the participation of citizens, who are the true owners of Busan's urban railway." He added, "We will do our best to ensure that the new trains are not only well-designed but also safe and comfortable, so that citizens can use them with peace of mind."
