A netizen claiming to be a medical school student has sparked controversy by posting on a university entrance exam community.

On the 18th, a post seemingly urging prospective medical students to oppose enrollment increases was published on the Naver cafe 'Sumanhwi'. The author, Mr. A, attached a screenshot of a doctor recruitment notice, stating, "Currently, several thousand intern and resident positions have been opened, causing pay to drop this low." He continued, "The class of 2025 should realize the reality immediately after passing and lie down together (protest). I do not discourage coming to medical school." He also added, "The class of 2024 initially wanted to attend school, but after seeing internal pay data, most are thinking of enduring for more than three years."

In response, a cafe member said, "I understand what you mean, but it might be better not to say such things to examinees who are still urgently preparing for medical school entrance exams." Mr. A replied, "Of course, if your grades allow, you should come to medical school. It’s an encouraging message to apply without worry because we can protest together and change things once you’re here."

He also responded to a comment saying, "If admitted, I want to study hard. Seniors, please fight hard to create a good environment," by saying, "In a situation where the salary has been cut to one-sixth, the saying 'every man for himself' does not apply at all. Anyone with the intelligence to come to medical school will fight harder than anyone else." To a member who criticized with "Thank you for the 'self-certification'," he said, "If pneumonia spreads in nursing hospitals in September and the number of deaths spikes in real-time like COVID-19, the government will either surrender or be impeached. Let’s wait and see."

Netizens reacted with comments such as, "Are they just waiting for patients to die? It’s chilling," "They must be anxious about losing their spots to freshmen," and "What’s the point of saying that to examinees?"
