At 10 a.m. on the 23rd, a special forum titled "The Path of Korea's Future Leaders: 2030 Urban, National, and Global Leadership to Overcome Challenges" will be held at Dongseo University Centum Campus, organized by the Korean Political Science Association.


This forum will feature Park Hyungjoon, Mayor of Busan, and Oh Sehoon, Mayor of Seoul, as discussants.

The leaders of Busan and Seoul, the first and second largest cities in Korea, will come together in one place. This unprecedented scene perhaps reflects the urgency and gravity of the crisis Korea is currently facing. Standing at a critical golden time, there are high expectations for groundbreaking insights that will help Korea overcome its crisis and reach the threshold of innovation.


This forum will focus on political and social issues Korea is currently facing at the regional, national, and global levels, bringing together leading political scientists and local government leaders to seek solutions.


The forum is hosted by the Korean Political Science Association and will be held on the final day of the "2024 Korean Political Science Association Summer International Conference."


The discussion, moderated by Cho Hwasoon, President of the Korean Political Science Association, will be conducted in three sessions: ▲Local Government Politics and Economy ▲National Political System Reform Issues ▲International Politics and Nuclear Armament Issues.


Mayor Park Hyungjoon has consistently diagnosed that Korea faces three major crises: ▲declining growth potential ▲low birth rate ▲widening disparities. He has pointed out that the deepening of the capital-centric system is intensifying Korea's crisis, emphasizing that true balanced development is the path to sustainable progress for the nation.


Since his academic days, Mayor Park has offered deep insights into the direction of political reform and development models for Korean society through numerous publications, contemplating the path Korea should take.


Attention is focused on what solutions will be proposed through this forum regarding the leadership and political reforms needed for Korea to overcome its current crisis and innovate once again.
