Yongin City Expands Collaboration with Local Organizations to Support Families of Dementia Patients

116 Places Designated as 'Dementia Overcoming Leading Organizations'

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is expanding collaboration with local organizations to support families of dementia patients.


On the 19th, Yongin City announced that frontline public health center dementia relief centers have designated 116 welfare centers, schools, hospitals, companies, and non-profit organizations within the jurisdiction as 'Dementia Overcoming Leading Organizations,' providing various social welfare services utilizing the characteristics of each institution.

To this end, the Giheung-gu Public Health Center Dementia Relief Center recently designated the Korea Electric Power Corporation MCS Seoyongin Branch as a Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization and signed a business agreement. According to the agreement, the public health center will cooperate with KEPCO MCS on ▲ dementia awareness education ▲ providing dementia relief center information materials and linking to the dementia relief center when discovering families in dementia crisis ▲ electrical safety inspections and replacement of old wiring.


Additionally, the KEPCO MCS Seoyongin Branch will support the Giheung-gu Dementia Relief Center with automatic fire extinguishing patches to prevent fires caused by overloaded outlets. These patches will be attached to homes registered with the dementia relief center.


The Cheoin-gu Public Health Center Dementia Relief Center is also in the process of signing a business agreement with the KEPCO MCS Dongyongin Branch as a Dementia Overcoming Leading Organization. The Suji-gu Public Health Center Dementia Relief Center has signed agreements this year with three disability welfare centers and administrative welfare centers as Dementia Overcoming Leading Organizations to conduct dementia patient discovery and cognitive enhancement projects.


A public health center official said, "We will designate various organizations and related institutions as Dementia Overcoming Leading Organizations and encourage active participation in dementia overcoming activities."


Meanwhile, the city’s public health centers are recruiting Dementia Overcoming Leading Organizations year-round. Interested institutions or organizations can contact the public health center dementia relief center for inquiries.
