The boundary of the 'No Smoking Zone' around educational facilities in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, will be expanded from the existing 10 meters to 30 meters.

On the 19th, the Suwon City Public Health Center announced that, in accordance with the revision of the National Health Promotion Act, the no smoking zone has been expanded to within 30 meters from the boundary of facilities such as daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary, middle, and high schools starting from the 17th of this month. Smoking in the no smoking zone will result in a fine of up to 100,000 KRW.

The Suwon City Public Health Center distributed no smoking zone promotional stickers to 1,101 locations including daycare centers, kindergartens, and schools. Additionally, they plan to intensively promote the revised regulations using Suwon City's social networking services (SNS). Furthermore, they will enforce smoking bans in no smoking zones and conduct campaigns.

A representative from the Suwon City Public Health Center stated, "We plan to combine promotion and on-site guidance to inform about the expansion of the no smoking zones," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that our children can grow up healthily in a pleasant environment free from cigarette smoke."
