Jungnang-gu, Ideal for Raising Children, Operates 'Expectant Parents Class' for Dual-Income Couples

Weekend Afternoons and Weekday Evenings Programs for Working Parents
Helping Understand Pregnancy and Childbirth Processes, Including Trying on Maternity Experience Clothes

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is establishing and expanding a prenatal class for working couples.

This prenatal class consists of the ‘Saturday Prenatal Class,’ held on weekend afternoons for working families who find it difficult to participate during weekday daytime hours, and the ‘Moonlight Prenatal Class,’ which operates on weekday evenings.

In May, through the ‘Jungnang Masil’ event, the district communicated with expectant parents and received feedback indicating high demand for evening and weekend education programs. Accordingly, it was decided to expand and establish programs to allow more working expectant parents to participate.

The prenatal class program will be held at the Jungnang-gu Office’s Second Building. The newly established ‘Saturday Prenatal Class’ will be held three times from September to November, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The weekday evening program, ‘Moonlight Prenatal Class,’ received positive responses from expectant mothers and fathers and was successfully completed in January and May of this year. The originally planned four sessions have been expanded to five, with additional sessions scheduled for August, October, and December.

The program provides accurate information about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, and is designed to support healthy childbirth and child-rearing through various content. Key educational topics include ▲understanding the childbirth process and breathing techniques during delivery ▲newborn care with dads ▲experience wearing maternity simulation suits.

Applications for each program are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center website, and any expectant parents residing in Jungnang-gu who are at least 20 weeks pregnant can participate.
