First High-Level Party-Government Meeting Since Handonghun Leadership Launches... "An Opportunity to Practice People-Centered Politics"

Discussion on Livelihood Measures at Prime Minister's Residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul
Consensus on Party-Government Cooperation to Solve Livelihood Issues

On the 18th, Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, stated at the first high-level party-government consultation meeting since his inauguration, "The fact that we do not have a major election immediately ahead could be a real opportunity to practice genuine livelihood politics," emphasizing that the government and ruling party must create a synergy effect.

Leader Han made these remarks at the high-level party-government consultation meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. Attendees included Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, and other senior government and ruling party officials.

Han said, "I believe the public is greatly fatigued by the opposition party's repeated impeachment and special investigation offensives, which have become almost routine," adding, "While we must firmly confront such offensives, the true battlefield where the public will evaluate the government and ruling party from now on will be livelihood policies."

He continued, "The strength of the government and ruling party lies in the synergy that can emerge when administrative power and politics combine. It is time to demonstrate that synergy in livelihood issues and show our capabilities," pledging to do his best to ensure that the party-government meetings function as a control tower for livelihood matters.

Other attendees also expressed agreement that, given the urgency of resolving livelihood issues, the party and government must unite their efforts. Prime Minister Han emphasized, "Despite difficult domestic and international conditions, the government has been pushing forward various reform tasks and striving to revive livelihoods, but there are still strong calls for further efforts. At times like this, the party and government must become one and clearly demonstrate to the public their responsibility and determination in managing state affairs."

Prime Minister Han also stated, "We will meticulously ensure that there is no negligence in completing key reform tasks that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration must accomplish, such as pension, labor, education, and medical reforms, as well as in legislative and institutional improvements necessary to alleviate the difficulties faced by socially vulnerable groups."

Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok said, "I believe it is time for the government and party to unite and focus on livelihood policies with an 'all-court pressing' (comprehensive effort) approach," adding, "I sincerely hope that (Leader Han) will build a ruling party that meets the expectations of the people and party members."
