Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, succeeded in his re-election on the 18th. With a record-high winning rate of over 85%, Lee secured his re-election and ushered in the 'Lee Jae-myung 2nd term system.'
The Democratic Party announced that Lee Jae-myung won first place with a final vote rate of 85.40% in the party leader election held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park on the same day. The combined vote rate Lee achieved in this party convention is the highest ever recorded in the Democratic Party and past pro-democracy party conventions. Furthermore, Lee is the first party leader in the Democratic Party lineage to succeed in re-election in 24 years since former President Kim Dae-jung.
His competitors, Kim Doo-kwan and Kim Ji-soo, received final vote rates of 12.12% and 2.48%, respectively.
In his acceptance speech, Lee proposed a summit meeting to President Yoon Seok-youl to overcome the crisis and also suggested discussions with Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, to pass the Marine Corps Special Prosecutor Act. He said, "The last summit meeting fell short of the public's expectations, which was regrettable. Since we agreed at the last meeting to meet again anytime to communicate and discuss state affairs, I will await the president's response."

On the same day, Kim Min-seok, Jeon Hyun-hee, Han Jun-ho, Kim Byung-joo, and Lee Eon-ju were finally elected as the Democratic Party's Supreme Council members (in order of vote rate).
Kim Min-seok, who received full support from Lee Jae-myung, took the position of senior Supreme Council member. He secured first place with a final combined vote rate of 18.23%, consisting of 19.03% in national public opinion polls, 18.59% in party member votes, and 15.05% in delegate votes.
Following him, Jeon Hyun-hee ranked second with a final total of 15.88%, and Han Jun-ho came in third with 14.14%. Kim Byung-joo recorded 13.08% for fourth place, and among the candidates who fiercely competed for the last spot, Lee Eon-ju secured 12.30%, placing her last on the Supreme Council member list.
Jung Bong-ju, who led the party member votes early in the election, failed to capture votes at the end due to recent controversies over 'myeongpali (promoting Lee Jae-myung),' finishing sixth with a final vote rate of 11.7% and losing the election. The party leader and Supreme Council member elections were decided by combining 56% party member votes, 14% delegate votes, and 30% general public opinion polls.
Among the delegates, 13,190 out of 17,146 eligible voters participated, recording a turnout rate of 75.73%. For party member votes, out of 1,222,104 eligible voters, 515,511 participated in the party leader vote and 517,180 in the Supreme Council member vote, resulting in final turnout rates of 42.18% and 42.32%, respectively.
