Gyeonggi-do Conducts Supervision Inspections at 867 Construction Sites Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province will conduct inspections on the supervision status of construction sites subject to resident supervision within the province to prevent poor construction and safety accidents in buildings.

The main inspection targets are 867 construction sites subject to resident supervision, including those with a total floor area of 5,000㎡ or more. Among these, 21 sites subject to prior approval for building permits will undergo joint inspections involving Gyeonggi Province, city and county officials, and private experts, while the remaining construction sites will be inspected by the respective city and county authorities.

The inspection will cover ▲ deployment and presence of supervisors ▲ review of construction documents ▲ construction guidance and site management ▲ safety and quality control. Any issues identified during the inspection will be corrected immediately on-site, and administrative measures such as correction orders will be taken for matters that cannot be addressed immediately.

Gyeonggi Province plans to compile major issues found during inspections and distribute them to each city and county for reference in managing and inspecting supervision tasks. The province will also continuously pursue improvements to related laws to strengthen standards for supervisor deployment and establish measures to prevent building collapses and safety accidents.

Park Jong-geun, Director of the Architecture Design Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This inspection is being conducted to verify the actual work status of supervisors who must review construction documents and manage construction and safety on-site to prevent various collapses and safety accidents at construction sites. As part of efforts to minimize damage and protect lives from safety accidents at construction sites, we will secure the safety of residents through this initiative."
