Seoul City to Implement 'Mobile Certified Real Estate Agent Certification' from the 19th
Registration Details of Brokerage Offices Available on 'Seoul Jipap' App
"Helps Create a Transparent Real Estate Transaction Environment"
Starting from the 19th, the qualifications and identity of licensed real estate agents in Seoul can be verified via smartphone.
Seoul City announced on the 18th that it has completed the development of the 'Mobile Licensed Real Estate Agent Qualification Verification Service' and will officially launch it on the 19th.

The 'Mobile Licensed Real Estate Agent Qualification Verification' service is linked in real-time with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'K-Geo' platform, allowing users to verify the qualifications (representative, affiliated agents, assistant agents, etc.) of real estate agents and the registration details of real estate offices. This service uses the blockchain-based 'Seoul Wallet' application, making forgery or tampering impossible.
The city stated, "Despite the implementation of preventive measures such as name tags and entrance postings due to repeated damages caused by unqualified or unregistered agents, their effectiveness has been limited. This service provides real-time information on the qualifications of agents and the operational status of real estate offices, helping to create a safer real estate transaction environment."
If a client requests qualification verification, the real estate agent can authenticate themselves through the Seoul Wallet app and display their qualification verification screen. This allows clients to cross-check and confirm the identity of the certifier (licensed real estate agent or assistant agent).
The city plans to expand this service nationwide after consultations with metropolitan cities and provinces that wish to participate.
Jo Nam-jun, Director of the Seoul Urban Space Headquarters, said, "By preemptively blocking brokerage activities by unqualified or unregistered agents through this service, we aim to prevent lease fraud and establish a trustworthy real estate transaction environment. We encourage citizens preparing for real estate contracts to actively request the mobile verification screen from licensed real estate agents."
