Daegu Police Chief Lee Seunghyup: "Crimes Destroying Ordinary Lives Will Never Be Tolerated"... Begins Official Duties After Inauguration Ceremony

Lee Seunghyeop, the 37th Chief of Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency, officially began his duties after holding his inauguration ceremony on the afternoon of the 16th.


In his inaugural address, Chief Lee stated, "The top priority for all activities and policies of the Daegu police should be to focus on the citizens. We will create a safe daily life that citizens can truly feel through policing activities that meet the standards demanded by the public. In particular, we must respond strictly to serious crimes that destroy the lives of ordinary people, such as malicious fraud, drugs, and gambling, and also establish a practical support system for crime victims."

Chief Lee also urged, "As fair law enforcers, let us create a society where the common sense that breaking the law always leads to punishment prevails, by strictly and consistently enforcing the law and ensuring the completeness and swiftness of investigations in accordance with the law and principles."


He further promised, "Through transparent organizational management, I will ensure that all members of the Daegu police family can work with pride based on their professionalism and job competence."


Chief Lee Seunghyeop of the Daegu Metropolitan Police Agency graduated as a member of the 7th class of the Korean National Police University and began his career as a lieutenant in 1991. He has served as Chief of Seoul Seongdong Police Station, Head of the Autonomy Division of the Daegu Agency, and Director of the National Security Investigation Bureau at the National Police Agency.
