Showers in Various Areas Tomorrow... Most Places Continue 'Heatwave' with 32-35°C

On Sunday the 18th, the hot weather will continue with the highest apparent temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country.

The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius. For the time being, many places, especially in the western regions and along the Gyeongsang coastal areas, will experience tropical nights, so it is important to take care of your health.

There will be occasional clouds across the country, but Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy. In the metropolitan area, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island, there will be showers from the afternoon to evening. Expected rainfall from the showers is 5 to 60 mm in the metropolitan area, Gangwon, and Jeolla regions, and 5 to 40 mm in the Chungcheong region and Jeju Island. Thunder and lightning may occur in areas with showers, and some places may experience very heavy showers with over 30 mm per hour.

Fine dust levels will be 'Good' to 'Moderate' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion. There may be gusts of wind along with thunder and lightning mainly over the seas of the West Sea, South Sea, and Jeju Island, so caution is advised for maritime safety accidents.

Sea waves will be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea nearshore. In the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East and South Seas, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea.

Meanwhile, Typhoon No. 7 Ampil is expected to move northward along the seas east of Sendai, Japan, and southeast of Sapporo, Japan, and is forecasted to transition into an extratropical cyclone around 3 a.m. on the 19th near the sea about 1520 km east of Sapporo.
