She continued, “As you all know well, trees are the most perfect 'carbon storage,' so we must plant natural vegetation in the urban space of Seoul so that not even a patch of bare ground is visible, leaving no gaps.”

She also said, “Arbor Day is ‘Everyday, 365 days a year,’ and we must plant as meticulously as possible in the urban space of Seoul, including sturdy street tree planting, rooftop gardens, vertical gardens, traffic island gardens, street gardens, and small-scale gardens.”

Director Lee urged, “Our employees, residents, businesses, organizations, and all stakeholders must work with an urgent and critical sense of responsibility,” and added, “Fortunately, thanks to the mayor’s declaration of Garden City last year and the efforts of all Garden City staff, Seoul is rapidly transforming into a beautiful and attractive space, and the citizens’ positive response gives us pride and fulfillment.”

Finally, she requested, “This fall, please designate an autumn tree-planting week at all business offices under the Garden City Bureau and each district office and hold overwhelming planting events,” and concluded, “Above all, I always feel grateful and thankful to everyone in this room. Thank you.”

Director Lee is a senior administrative official who passed the civil service exam and has served as Seoul’s press officer, Seoul 7017 operations manager, deputy mayor of Jungnang District, director of Seoul Grand Park, welfare planning officer, and acting welfare director, but she is well known as a passionate executive working energetically since her appointment as Director of the Garden City Bureau.

In particular, while hosting the 2024 Seoul International Garden Expo, she has been recognized for her work ability to the extent that Mayor Oh Se-hoon praised her, and she is making efforts to make Seoul greener and greener.
