On the 16th, the Dangjin Police Station in Chungnam announced that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A (in his 60s), the campervan driver, on charges of causing injury to a cargo truck driver in his 50s under the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents. On the 12th, around 12:30 PM, Mr. A was driving a campervan in the left lane of a two-lane one-way road in Songak-eup, Dangjin-si, Chungnam, when he suddenly attempted to change lanes. Mr. B (in his 50s), the cargo truck driver following in the right lane, swerved sharply toward the right shoulder to avoid the campervan, lost balance, and toppled over to the side. Mr. B was transported to a nearby hospital with a fractured leg and is receiving treatment.

According to the police investigation, Mr. A was aware that the cargo truck had overturned but left the scene without taking any action. He reportedly told the police that although he knew an accident had occurred behind him, he did not realize it was caused by his lane change. A police official stated, "Even if there was no physical collision, if a direct cause of the accident was provided, the person is subject to punishment. If it is confirmed that the person left the scene after recognizing the accident, charges such as hit-and-run causing injury can also be applied." The official added, "We are investigating the detailed circumstances of the accident through Mr. A, Mr. B, and others."
