Park Gwan-hoon Debate Keynote Speech
"Must Propose Korea's Own Special Prosecutor Plan"
"Proposes Permanent Consultative Body for Ruling and Opposition Parties"
Park Chan-dae, Acting Leader and Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 16th regarding the special investigation law for the fallen Marine Corps members, "We can also accept the third-party recommendation proposal mentioned by Representative Han Dong-hoon."
At the Kwanhun Forum held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, Acting Leader Park said, "I hope Representative Han, as the leader of the ruling party, keeps the promise made to the people and promptly submits the special investigation proposal." He added, "Claiming that a special investigation is necessary but not presenting a proposal while unconditionally opposing the opposition's proposal is an attitude that turns everything into a political struggle," and "The Democratic Party is ready to engage in discussions and consultations with an open attitude."

Acting Leader Park also diagnosed the Republic of Korea as being in a comprehensive crisis and argued that President Yoon Seok-yeol should recognize the opposition as a partner in state affairs and actively engage in dialogue to overcome the crisis.
He further stated, "There are piled-up national tasks such as responding to the economic crisis and livelihood crisis, constitutional amendment, climate change, population extinction, and pension reform," adding, "To overcome the national crisis, I proposed a summit meeting between the ruling and opposition party leaders and a 'Permanent Consultative Body among the Ruling Party, Opposition, and Government' involving the president, and I hope the president responds quickly."
Acting Leader Park raised his voice, saying, "The People Power Party claims that the Democratic Party is practicing parliamentary dictatorship, but the dictatorship is being done by the president. The president has exercised veto power 21 times already," and "Passing only the bills that suit the president's taste is not democracy."
