[Click eStock] "Shift Up, Q2 Earnings Below Expectations"

Meritz Securities analyzed on the 16th that Shift Up's operating profit in the second quarter of this year slightly missed expectations.

Shift Up recorded sales of 65.2 billion KRW and operating profit of 45.1 billion KRW in the second quarter of this year. This represents an increase of 65.4% and 49.0%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Hyojin Lee, a researcher at Meritz Securities, explained, "The operating profit slightly missed the expected 48 billion KRW. The 'Stella Blade', released at the end of April, was assumed to sell 4,000 units per day in June but only reached about 3,000 units."

He added, "They recently announced plans for a collaboration with 'Neon Genesis Evangelion,'" and predicted, "Total sales of 'Goddess of Victory: NIKKE' in the third quarter of this year will increase from the daily average of 4 billion KRW in the first half to 5 billion KRW in the second half." Furthermore, he emphasized, "More than half of NIKKE's sales occur in Japan," explaining that "this is due to the results of large-scale IP collaborations in Japan and the reflection of summer content."
