Criminal Charges Expected for Drunk Driving, Unlicensed Driving, and License Plate Concealment

The Chungnam Provincial Police Agency conducted a special crackdown on reckless driving during Liberation Day, uncovering 150 illegal acts.
To prevent illegal activities by reckless drivers, which are rampant on national holidays such as the March 1st Independence Movement Day and Liberation Day, the police carried out a special crackdown from 10 p.m. the previous day until 5 a.m. in Cheonan and Asan.
A total of 383 police officers and 77 pieces of equipment were deployed for this operation.
As a result of the crackdown, there were 86 notifications of disposition, 8 cases of drunk driving, 2 cases of driving without a license, 21 cases of illegal vehicle modifications, 1 case of license plate concealment, 2 cases of unregistered vehicles, 1 order to suspend operation, 2 wanted persons, 1 license plate confiscation, 16 violations of safety standards, 8 cases of exceeding noise standards, and 2 cases of unsealed license plates, totaling 150 violations.
The police plan to take criminal action against those caught for drunk driving, driving without a license, concealing license plates, and illegal vehicle modifications.
A police official stated, "Since reckless driving is a serious crime, we will hold offenders strictly accountable and work to eradicate such acts."
